Textron Systems remains an industry leader in uncrewed surface vehicles, autonomy control systems, and design, development, and integration efforts involving complex payloads and payload delivery systems. Since 2014, Textron Systems has supported the U.S. Navy’s Unmanned Influence Sweep System (UISS) design/production contract award, developing the first mine-sweep payload delivery system designed for uncrewed surface vessel operations. Throughout the past nine years, Textron Systems’ engineering and program management teams designed, developed, tested, produced, and integrated this complex payload onto the CUSV® platform.

“As a company we have over 50 years of experience creating and manufacturing uncrewed technology to support our warfighter across the air and land space. We are excited to bring these technological advancements to our sailors, protecting them in contested maritime environments” says Ryan Schaffernocker, Vice President for Textron’s Sea Systems.

Designed to locate and detonate acoustic and magnetic influence mines, the mine-sweep payload delivery system reached Initial Operational Capability in 2022 as part of the U.S. Navy’s UISS Program of Record. Textron Systems has delivered two pilot line and four low-rate production UISS crafts and payloads to the Navy and are currently on contract to backfit key ECPs in support of the upcoming fielding of MCMUSVs to the LCS fleet.

Textron Systems continues to look forward to working with our U.S. Partners to provide our warfighters world-class capabilities involving uncrewed surface vehicles.
