Textron Systems continues its more than 50 years of vehicle experience as it builds additional COMMANDO® vehicles for the U.S. Army in support of the Afghan National Army Special Operations Command (ANASOC). The vehicles will join the ANASOC’s fleet of battle-tested Mobile Strike Force Vehicles (MSFVs).

In December, Textron Systems delivered 15 vehicles to the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) toward this effort. Textron Systems is currently manufacturing the remaining 40 vehicles of the 55-vehicle order, which is expected to be fulfilled later this year.

“Since 2012, Textron Systems has delivered more than 600 vehicles to support the ANA and ANASOC, all of which are actively engaged in security operations around the country,” says Textron Systems Vice President Skip Gaskill. “We are proud to have supported and continue to support the ANA and ANASOC throughout these past seven years.”

In addition to this most recent 55 vehicle-order, the U.S. Army has the option to order an additional 200 vehicles for a total of up to 255 vehicles through 2022 as part of this Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity Foreign Military Sale.

“We are working closely with the Ministry of Defense, ANA, ANASOC, the Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan (CSTC-A) and the U.S. Army on their future vehicle needs,” Gaskill said. “It is important to stay engaged with all these entities to ensure we understand the customers’ needs to accurately forecast when vehicles should be ordered, built, and delivered.”
