Race to the Finish Line: Army Ten Miler
On October 7, 2018, Textron Systems employees will participate in the annual Army Ten Miler Race that takes place at the Pentagon. Each year, over 900 teams and 35,000 runners from around the world, including military, civilians, wheelchair athletes and wounded warrior athletes participate in the run. Beginning in 1985, the race has served as a great way to support Army veterans and raise funds for Family and Morale, and Welfare and Recreation programs.
Textron Systems is proud to sponsor a team of employees who will be participating in the race. Team leader Justin Kratz shared, “It’s hard to explain what it’s like to enter the race start area with 35,000 other participants, many service members themselves, and all get in a few ‘HOOAH!’ chants after watching some paratroopers drop in on top of you. It makes you think about all those who make it safe and possible to compete in the event.”
The Army Ten Miler kicks off the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. “Just as we are proud to be support our service members with the products and services that we create and provide, we are honored to be able to support the families of those warfighters in even a small way by participating in the race,” Kratz shared.
Best of luck to all participants on a successful race! We are so proud of your dedicated efforts to support our troops. If you’re attending the AUSA Annual Meeting, make sure to stop by Textron Systems booth 8126 to learn more about our products and technologies.
