Meet Alexander - Dugway, Utah Team

What are your primary responsibilities on your team?

From a high-level perspective, I am responsible for the flight testing of the Shadow® aircraft and other ground equipment. This would include daily tasks such as the verification of equipment performance, troubleshooting of non-conformances, hosting of a flight data management system, and the upgrade of system software. You could characterize this role as part test engineering role, part Field Service Representative (FSR) role, and part programmer.

What do you like about working on this team in Dugway?

I have been working with the Dugway team for just over 5 years and working with this team provides numerous opportunities to advance your knowledge of the system. You are expected to cross train and continuously learn from your peers which helps you build a well rounded skill set. This is a great team to gain experience in a flight test environment and in the entire Shadow system.

What advice would you give to a new hire joining this team?

Working at Dugway is unique in that you get a very in-depth knowledge of the system with mostly hands on experience. Expect a dynamic environment which will continually challenge you. Do not be afraid to ask for advice or to learn something new.
