Behind the Mission: Meet Chris

Chris, Senior Director of Global Military Sales & Strategy, Weapon Systems, retired from the United States Air Force (USAF) as a Lt Col with 21 years of service under his belt. After retiring, Chris found his way to Textron Systems through USAF connections.
“In 2018, I was recruited to Textron Systems by a former Air Force boss and have been here ever since,” Chris said. “Right off the bat, I was expected to participate and bring value to the team. I knew my voice mattered and that our leadership expected me to show up informed and ready to contribute.”
During his time in the Air Force, Chris was a F-15C pilot and supported deployments to the Middle East, operational assignments CONUS and Pacific, and Pentagon assignments in the USAF Budget and International Affairs offices. He also served as an Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) pilot and Squadron Commander at Elgin Air Force Base.
Once Chris joined Textron Systems, he made it his mission to find opportunities to grow and develop his post-military career.
“In order to successfully transition from military to business, veterans need to take advantage of opportunities to grow their business acumen, understand how the company works and why, and merge that knowledge with their experiences and expertise gained from their military experience,” Chris said. “Textron Systems offers a variety of training, education and practical experience to help veterans grow into successful business leaders.”
With experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) Budget and Internal Affairs offices, Chris is well-equipped to help the company understand customer needs and requirements and ensure budgets are aligned with these needs.
“My military experience allows us to effectively communicate to our customers what capabilities we can provide and how we can help them be successful,” said Chris.
“It’s been an amazing experience to be part of the Weapon Systems team during a period of growth, transitioning programs from development to production,” Chris said. “There are certainly many exciting opportunities ahead to continue to provide our capabilities to our nation’s warfighters.”
