Textron Systems Delivers Third A2PATS® System to Continuous Capability Development and Delivery (C2D2) program
Textron Systems has recently delivered the A2PATS® system to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ Fort Worth facility in support of the F-35’s Continuous Capability Development and Delivery (C2D2) program. This delivery is one of Textron Systems' largest A2PATS systems to date, with each system consisting of nine total racks. This marks the third delivery for the C2D2 program out of six total systems contracted for this program, valued at up to $140M, with earlier systems being delivered to other locations.
The C2D2 program supports ongoing modernization efforts for United States Department of Defense, foreign partners and allied nation 5th Generation F-35 variants, cultivating agility to adapt to evolving technology landscapes. A2PATS is an advanced electromagnetic environment simulator incorporating electronic warfare (EW), communications and electronic intelligence capabilities, providing proven performance and flexibility in verifying EW systems. Built upon Textron Systems’ open-architecture direct digital synthesizer technology paired with our proven user interface, A2PATS is easily programmable to fit the customers’ needs. The A2PATS provides the opportunity to recreate an EW environment in the safety of the lab, helping to ensure mission success for the F-35 program.
Supporting the F-35 Lightning II program provides Textron Systems with an opportunity to provide EW capabilities to Lockheed Martin for a sustained period of time as new block versions of the aircraft arise. The sophisticated A2PATS system packs a lot of power into the hands of the customer and the team stands ready to support and add upgraded capabilities as needed.
